04:20 am - Moderating a hurricane Katrina IRC channel...

I just want to say that moderating a chat channel with 800 users on it... ceases to be fun, and becomes a wretched, wretched responsibility. Having to deal with varying levels of trolls, people arguing about petty shit, people posting links to pictures of dead bodies, etc, its not fun.

It makes me very sleepy.

I have no right to complain though. People who have lost everything, people still dying in the streets, its madness, and at this point its a holocaust, and it didn't have to be nearly this bad. The governments bungled response is a disgrace, but that should be obvious to anyone now. I still have my life, my family, my (relative) health, my pets, and my possesions, and I have no right to complain about my own petty hassles.

I'm sick of the fighting, and the arguing though. There WILL be accountability, but now is the time we need to pull together as a nation, and accountability can come later.
